Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover Girl Bar Refaeli - Don't Forget She Does Lingerie, Too

True, it's a great honor for a model to be on the cover of The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. 2009's choice is Israeli beauty Bar Refaeli. (Hey, look; she obviously didn't get any tan lines during the shoot..)



While the above cover of Ms. Refaeli barely contained and peeling her bikini bottoms down is more than a little striking, let's recall a basic fact. A swimsuit is meant to be seen in public. Maybe you won't see her or anyone looking close to her at your local pool or beach anytime soon, but it's still, if barely, apparel for public consumption. Lingerie on the other hand, is, despite some relatively recent fashion trends, by nature intimate. Think of it as meant for private consumption, then.
Seeing Ms. Refaeli or anyone else undressed as such is then a more intimate experience. Or, just go with the 'Forbidden Fruit' idea. One of the reasons this is a lingerie blog, and not a 'hot swimsuit' blog. Not that there's anything wrong with that idea; it's just, given the choice, we'll continue to celebrate the fact that Ms. Refaeli and others look fantastic in their underwear and aren't shy about demonstrating that fact.

fufL Bonus Post: Eliza Dushku - A Doll In Lingerie

I was going to include a message with a plug for Eliza Dushku's new Joss Whedon-produced series Dollhouse at the end of Friday's Valentines Week post, but, happily, events intervened allowing for a full-blown post. A quick Google image search of 'Eliza Dushku lingerie' proves that there just are not enough photos of the lovely Ms. Dushku in her undies. To promote Dollhouse, she's partially remedied that by posing in the a striking black bra and panty set in the March 2009 issue of Maxim.

Several things you need to know:
1> Not the most important among them: I've been crushing on Ms. Dushku since she showed up as Faith on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. (My only other, still-original and still crush since I was 8 is Heather Locklear, and my girlfriend has given me her full permission to run off with either of them should they ever become mentally unbalanced and decide to pick some un-famous guy totally at random and have their way with him.)

2> This show is from Joss Whedon. Hello? Buffy?, Angel? Firefly?

3> Angel's Fred, Amy Acker, is also in it.

3> It's on Friday nights on FOX 9 Eastern/8 Central

4> Which means the network will probably screw everyone from Whedon, Ms. Dushku and millions of fans of the show by pre-empting it, moving it all over the schedule, then canceling it by saying 'no one' watched it, UNLESS we all tune in this and every damn week. In Case You Were Wondering Who That Lingerie Babe In That Doritos Superbowl Commercial Is..

Longest - damn - post - title. After watching the first six seconds of the above Doritos Superbowl commercial (no offense to the lead actor, but the only seconds of it that matter) you may have already formed the question above. (Well, that and 'who needs The Lingerie Bowl, anyway?') According to The Wilkes Barre Times Leader, The lady in the black lace lingerie is one Christina Wildes, a native of the Northeastern Pennsylvania town of Mountaintop, now of (where else?) Los Angeles.



According to The Standard Speaker

Wildes’ commercial, “The Power of the Crunch,” features a man biting into Doritos tortilla chips, each crunch provoking interesting results. As the man takes each bite, Wildes’ dress comes off and leaves her standing in lingerie on the street, an automatic teller machine shoots out cash, and a police officer turns into a monkey.

More than 1,900 commercials were submitted for the Doritos competition, Wildes said, and “The Power of the Crunch” has made it to the top five. Voting for the commercial ended Sunday.

Her role in the commercial called for a dress made out of Velcro, which was ripped from her body using strings, Wildes said. The strings were then digitally removed. Wildes said the scene took about 20 to 25 takes to shoot.

And, watching the above video, she seems to be an awfully good sport about getting stripped down to her undies on a busy city sidewalk.. 20 to 25 times..
So, how is it the guy throwing that snow globe beat Ms. Wildes?

LOST's Evangeline Lilly Is Selling Her Panties on ebay

..and, you'd think those panties would have worn out by now after all those years on that LOST island..

Actually, while the headline of the post is true, it's not how it seems. Ms. Lilly is starting a line of Brazilian-made lingerie called R*Favella that she's selling on ebay Giving Works to benefit children and teens in bitterly-poor Brazilian neighborhoods through the charity Task Brasil. The auctions are for a limited time, so as they say in Chicago, bed early and bid often. (Nevermind, that's vote early and vote often). Either way, if you want to help a good cause and get into Evangeline Lilly's panties, (Oh, like she didn't know all these jokes were coming?) bid while you can.
